Solar Financing Choices for Your Needs

For SunPower’s customers, these options are a win-win-win. And with all of these options, your system is backed by our industry-leading Combined Power and Product Warranty for 25 years.

Purchase

You own the system and the energy it produces.

  • You purchase your SunPower® system directly.
  • A home equity loan can be used and may be tax-deductible.
  • You can keep any solar tax credits and/or state and local incentives for which you may be eligible.*Incentives, rebates, and tax credits vary and are subject to change. SunPower does not warrant, guarantee or otherwise advise its customers about specific tax outcomes. Consult your tax advisor regarding the solar tax credit and how it applies to your specific circumstances. Please visit the dsireusa.org website for detailed solar policy information.
  • Purchasing your SunPower system directly can maximize your savings. Over time, your system can pay for itself through your utility bill savings.*Savings achieved depends upon a number of factors that vary according to each customer’s particular circumstances, including (but not limited to): equipment used, system size, system orientation and shading, insulation available, and applicable utility rates and rate structure, as well as customer’s eligibility for rebates, incentives, and net-metering or similar programs (the availability of which may differ for each customer). Actual savings will vary.

Loan

You own your solar system, and pay for it with a loan.

  • Various loan payment terms and conditions available (including optional full prepayment without penalty).
  • For many customers, the combination of the loan payment and the remaining power bill is less than their previous electric bill.

Lease

SunPower owns the system on your roof.*SunPower Capital, LLC and its successors and assigns own leased SunPower systems.

  • You pay a monthly amount to “rent” the system and use the energy you produce
  • For many customers, their lease and remaining utility bill are lower than their previous electric bill
  • System production is guaranteed for 20 years. If something breaks, we’ll fix it.*SunPower Production Guarantee and Limited Warranty will apply in accordance with the terms and conditions of your Lease Agreement.
  • When you sell your home, you can assign the lease to the new homeowner, subject to credit approval. SunPower facilitates this process.

As if lower utility bills weren’t incentive enough.

Financial incentives, tax credits and utility rebates are available for qualified customers, too.
